The authors consider two uses for such a format: listening to podcasts and creating them. In both cases, different genres can be used: quick introduction to the topic, narrative, talk show, and others.
Of course, the podcast option is more difficult, but also more useful – to record an issue on a topic, students need to research it well, formulate their thoughts, and organize themselves. That is, it works both to build and test knowledge and to practice flexible skills.
As for the limitations, the authors emphasize, first of all, the large amount of time required to create podcasts – and to listen to them as well. The overabundance of such assignments, as some experts fear, may lead to students reading even less.
